We'll shortly announce officially that we've acquired goalkeeper Steve Cronin on loan from the Portland Timbers (United Soccer League First Division). The club received approval from MLS to obtain the 26-year old as an extreme hardship roster addition. Cronin joined the team at training for the first time today.
Cronin played in 28 matches for the Timbers during the 2009 USL First Division season and finished the campaign ranked among league leaders in wins (15), shutouts (10), goals-against average (0.68) and saves (97). Following the season, he was named the league’s Goalkeeper of the Year and an All-League First-Team selection.
Cronin played five seasons in MLS with the San Jose Earthquakes (2004) and Los Angeles Galaxy (2005-08) prior to joining the Timbers this season.

I just saw him on October the 4th in the playoff game in Portland ( sorry Timber fans that you guys lost and out for the season ) and he made some great saves. A plus for DC United. But what's up with Josh Wicks and Milos Kocic?
