Video: Pranks for a cause

04/08/2009 11:12 AM by Kyle Sheldon

Ben Olsen, Bryan Namoff, Santino Quaranta, Chris Pontius and Rodney Wallace star in the video below about the history of D.C. United rookie pranks...

D.C. United is in the midst of a four-team challenge to see which club can collect the most funds for Nothing But Nets during a month-long Major League Soccer initiative that culminates on World Malaria Day on April 25.  The market that raises the most money will randomly select one donating fan to win a trip for two to the 2009 MLS All-Star Game in Salt Lake City in July.

Created by the United Nations Foundation, Nothing But Nets is a global, grassroots campaign to save lives by preventing malaria, a leading killer of children in Africa. A $10 donation goes directly toward the purchase, distribution and education about the proper use of a long-lasting, insecticide-treated bed net, which can prevent Malaria.

Wow. Just wow. Where do I start?

    - Namoff's epic acting?

    - Pulling some vintage jerseys to help sell the flashback?

    -"Benny"

    You've got my $10.

Ahhh....Bree and was hoping that anyone wouldn't notice the VWs and you nailed it right away. Congrats. There is one other mistake in the video time capsule wise. Can you find it?

Ben's wearing post-'04 gear. Clearly he's not a method actor.

How about the fact that bug nets don't work unless they completely enclose an area, and not just block one or two sides.

    Flashback misstakes

    1. Olsen's got a 4th star on his warm-up jersey when he meets to chat with Tino and Bryan.

    2. Tino's got a wedding ring on during the "flashback." I'm pretty sure he wasn't married when he was a rookie. :)

    3. The previously mentioned VW Beetle

TCompton, La Barra Blonde and Section 130 are all right. In fact thanks for pointing that out to us. However there is still one thing unmentioned that I'm surprised no one has seen it just yet.
