Audio: Tony Limarzi loses it [in a good way]

04/27/2009 1:59 PM by Kyle Sheldon

We had a request via Twitter for Tony Limarzi's call of Sunday's final two goals.  You ask, we deliver.

Emilio's game-tying goal in the 90th minute:

And here's the call on Chris Pontius' game-winner just a minute and a half later that captured the win for the Black-and-Red:

I'll provide a dollar to anyone that accurately transcribe what Tony says during the run-up to Chris' goal.  The man has passion for the club, doesn't he?

"Three minutes of stoppage time, which began about twenty-five seconds ago. Burch is ready for the free kick about twenty yards onto his own half. Driven in towards Pontius, bounces past him, going in. Here is Khumalo! Khumalo turns to the line of the box...Pontius scores! Chris Pontius scores! DC United with two goals in the last minute and a half have gone from the brink of defeat to the thrills of victory. Can they hold on for another two minutes? Let's hope so.
A hopeful ball played into the box, it took a terrible bounce on the artificial turf. Boyzz Khumalo got there before the keeper, tried to turn it into the empty net. He lost his balance it was lose in the box and Chris Pontius was the first to react stuffing it into the goal.
DC United needs to keep concentration here.
    Foul on Quaranta."

The next thing I heard was my boss telling me I'm fired. Where's my dollar?
