He's back

Christian Gomez is, once again, a member of D.C. United.
The Argentine midfielder was officially acquired today from the Colorado Rapids, along with 23-year old goalkeeper Mike Graczyk, a international roster spot and salary cap considerations. In exchange, United sent Colorado Ivan Guerrero, its second Designated Player roster spot, and a 2010 SuperDraft second round pick.
During his first stint (2004-07) with the Black-and-Red, Christian helped the team capture three trophies - the 2004 MLS Cup and two Supporters' Shields (2006, 2007). He also garnered League MVP honors in 2006, was a three-time member of the MLS Best XI (2005, 2006 & 2007) and a three-time All-Star (2005, 2006 & 2007). He's good at soccer.
Welcome back, Christian.

I am really disappointed with the decision that Guerrero has been shipped plus DP slot. That's a really really bad decision. Unless because Guerrero will be away for all those WC qualifying games - I just don't see it.

I don't know about everyone else, but YEAHHHHHHHH!!!!! This is awesome news. I hugged my 16 mo. old daughter and jumped for joy upon seeing the news. Guerrero did some wonderful work on the flank to fill in for Fred and Olsen's absence. But this is the Central threat that we were lacking all last season. We still have Fred and Khumalo to provide width and outside ability. Kudos to the admin on bringing back the former league MVP!!! VAMOS UNITED!!!!
