Former DCU Head Coach to NSU Hall of Fame

10/08/2008 5:01 PM by Cris Cruz

100708_RongenHOF_P.jpgD.C. United would like to congratulate former head coach Thomas Rongen on recently being inducted into Nova Southeastern University’s Hall of Fame!

Rongen was in charge of NSU’s Men’s Soccer Program between 1991-1995. Highlights during his time with the Knights (now known as the Sharks) include leading them to the 1995 Florida Sun Conference Championship and accumulating an overall coaching record of 50-35-6, making him the winningest coach in NSU men's soccer history at the time.

After stints with other MLS clubs, Rongen became the head coach of D.C. United in 1999 and guided the Black-and-Red to their second Supporters Shield – with the league’s best regular season record of 23-9 – and a third MLS Cup.

He is only the second representative of NSU’s Men’s Soccer program to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. For more photos of the event, go here.
