09/16/2008 10:20 AM by Kyle Sheldon
United and visiting Deportivo Saprissa kick off Champions League play tonight at RFK Stadium (8 p.m. ET). It is the first of six games for the Black-and-Red with two games - one home, one away - against each member of the difficult Group A.
The game will be broadcast live on Fox Soccer Channel and in Spanish on Galavision. You can also listen live on WFED 1050 AM (English!) and on WACA 1540 AM (Spanish!).
Here's what you should be reading to prepare yourself for tonight's game:
- Steve Goff in the Washington Post writes about Gallardo's injury problems.
- In the Washington Times, John Haydon looks at tonight's match.
- Craig Stouffer also writes about Gallardo in the Examiner.
- And Charlie Boehm with a piece on the inaugural tournament.

FIRST. CHAMPIONS. LEAGUE. GAME. EVER!
This is a big day.
Love the background on the other team, that's cool. They have a lot more history than us. Hopefully we can show what we're all about.
