New feature on Behind The Badge

Howdy, folks! Happy Tuesday to you. Just a quick note to draw your attention to a new feature on Behind The Badge. You may have already noticed in the upper right corner of the site what we're calling the 'login widget.' Once registered and logged-in, the widget will display your user name and personal avatar (or profile image) and allow you to easily access your account settings. The account settings page allows you to edit your basic profile (display name, email address, password and URL), change your profile image and also now includes an extended profile. The extended profile captures some basic demographic information, which will help us to better serve you, the fans (we won't sell or share this information with anyone - it's only for internal planning purposes).

If you haven't done so already, try uploading a profile image. It looks pretty cool once you do and are logged-in. If you have feedback on the widget or experience any issues, feel free to drop me a line.

Registration worked for me, but I got an internal server error after confirming my account and signing in.

To reproduce (hopefully):
1) register for a new account
2) confirm account via email
3) login after confirming account

Hey Oscar M -

I just got word from our tech folk and they think the error was caused by another, unrelated matter and believe all should be well now. Obviously, since you were able to post a comment, your account was created, but if you have other issues, let us know!

I have an image uploaded but I'm still seeing the default soccer ball in the widget. Any thoughts on what I need to do to fix it?

I have problems with being compared to a flying monkey (see KC ad bar on right). Is there a fix for that? :)

Same issues as UnitedTerp here, although I assume it's just a timing delay or sorts. No worries.

Of all the Wizard of Oz characters, I would much rather be the Flying monkeys than anyone else... Although the mayor of Munchkinland seemed to have a pretty good gig... At least until he was released as a forward from DCU.

Well, I had a problem with the pic uploading too (it still shows the old soccer ball on star pic). Maybe making a post will fix it.

My computer crashed and all my wonderful pictures have gone by way of the dodo bird.

Oh well, guess I'll have to scower the interwebs for pictures and claim them as mine. :)

Folks -

Thanks for the comments and feedback. You'll notice that there's a bit of a delay from the time you upload your profile image until it shows up. Rest assured, they are showing up as you'll see above.
