In support of a good friend

I’d be hard pressed to find a more loyal and passionate supporter of D.C. United than long-time television play-by-play announcer Dave Johnson. Whether he is working for WTOP (his day job) or Comcast SportsNet (his night job), Dave always puts his heart into sharing information on the Black-and-Red in the best interest of the game, the club and supporters of both.
Today, we stand with our good friend in his time of need. Dave Johnson lost his father over the weekend. David E. Johnson, Sr. was 72 and died of heart failure. He was an old school baseball/football guy who encouraged his son's love of soccer. He even bought season tickets to the Washington Diplomats in 1979 and 1980.
Dave has asked that contributions in his father’s memory be made to United for DC or the Gordon Bradley Endowment Fund at George Mason University by calling 703-993-3215.
Our thoughts and prayers certainly go out to Dave, his wife Diane, their son Pierce and their family.

I feel for Dave, I really do. Is there any way to send him some comments?
He's always shown love for La Norte, so we would love to show some back.
Thanks,
Dougg

I have had the pleasure of meeting Dave multiple times at RFK up in the mezzanine. He always takes a minute to say hello and talk DCU.
Dave, I am very saddened to hear of your loss. The fans of D.C. United support you and I want you to know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.
